{"id":1051,"date":"2021-04-15T12:52:42","date_gmt":"2021-04-15T10:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sca.kis.si\/?p=1051"},"modified":"2021-04-15T12:54:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-15T10:54:16","slug":"american-beekeepers-are-trained-by-the-slovenian-beekeeping-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sca.kis.si\/en\/american-beekeepers-are-trained-by-the-slovenian-beekeeping-academy\/","title":{"rendered":"American beekeepers are trained by the Beekeeping Academy of Slovenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sca.kis.si\">Beekeeping Academy of Slovenia<\/a> (BAS), an organisational unit of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kis.si\/\">Agricultural Institute of Slovenia<\/a>, successfully conducted two online educational events for American beekeepers on the subject of beekeeping with A\u017d hives in collaboration with beekeeping instructors. 70 American beekeepers attended online educational events held on 26\/ 3\/2021 and 2\/ 4\/2021 via the Zoom platform.<\/p>\n<p>Under the mentorship of prof. dr. Janko Bo\u017ei\u010d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bf.uni-lj.si\/\">Biotechnical Faculty, University of L<\/a>jubljana), in collaboration with dr. Lucija \u017dvokelj (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vf.uni-lj.si\/nvi\">National Veterinary Institute, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of L<\/a>jubljana) and experienced beekeeper and instructor Mitja Smrdel, the BAS conducted educational consultations on two separate levels of complexity, bringing American beekeepers closer to beekeeping with A\u017d hives. Anton \u017dnider\u0161i\u010d developed a hive around the turn of the 20th century, and today, more than 90% of Slovenian beekeepers use it as a significant Slovenian invention.
